The Saddle Hill Replant Project aims to restore over three hectares of former pine forest on the southwestern slope of Saddle Hill — one of Dunedin’s most recognisable landmarks. Over several years, the site will be transformed into a rich mosaic of native forest, reconnecting with the existing QEII bush at the summit. The project will be planted in stages using native species to support local biodiversity, improve soil stability, and enhance the natural landscape.
